CBT Therapy for Children, Teens, Families & Adults

Compassionate, evidence-based support for anxiety, OCD, ADHD, trauma & more.

Supporting clients via both in-person & online therapy

About me….

Two hands reaching toward each other against a cloudy sky, with trees visible at the bottom of the image.

I’m Yvonne Mountford, a BABCP-accredited CBT therapist with over 10 years’ experience working across mental health and social care.

I specialise in supporting children, teenagers and families and I also work with adults. I offer a warm, practical and evidence-based approach to therapy, shaped by both professional training and my lived experience of ADHD. That means I understand, personally as well as clinically, how challenging life can feel when emotions are intense, anxiety is persistent, or everyday demands become overwhelming.

Therapy with me is never one-size-fits-all. I take time to understand you (or your child), what’s getting in the way, and what will genuinely help, then tailor our work around your individual needs.

How I work

I draw on a range of therapeutic approaches to create support that feels right for you and leads to meaningful, lasting change:

  • CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy)
Evidence-based strategies for understanding and changing unhelpful patterns of thought and behaviour.

  • ERP (Exposure and Response Prevention)
A gold-standard treatment for OCD and phobias.

  • Parent-Led CBT
Supporting parents to confidently help younger children at home.

  • ACT (Acceptance & Commitment Therapy)
Building resilience, psychological flexibility and values-based living.

  • DBT Skills (Dialectical Behaviour Therapy)
Practical tools for emotional regulation, distress tolerance and healthier relationships.

  • DDP (Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy) & Therapeutic Life Story Work
Attachment-focused approaches, particularly helpful for adoption and trauma-informed work.

Therapy is always collaborative, whether I’m working directly with your child, alongside you as a parent, or with you as an adult client. We’ll work at a pace that feels safe, supportive and purposeful.
